When people send out engagement announcements or wedding invitations, people generally just respond to let the couple know if they'll be attending the wedding. Sometimes, they call to extend congratulations to the happy couple.

p>I'm a fan of correspondence - letters, cards and email. In particular, I like working with paper to make my own greeting cards and stationery. Whenever I receive an engagement announcement or wedding invitation in the mail, I make sure to reply as instructed to let them know if I'll be attending, but I also like to send a personal note!
I recently received an invitation to a wedding that included a response card that was supposed to be mailed back. I noted on the card that I would be attending, but I also included this poem with my response. A few days later, the couple called me together (on speakerphone) and told me how nice they thought the poem and the gesture were. I was so glad they enjoyed it! My friends mean a lot to me, and I like doing nice things to show them that they are important!
