We Care

Chime the bells, play a tune,
Our wedding day will be here soon!
Toss some rice into the air,
Pass around some cake to share!

Dress the aisle in glittered tulle,
Make sure the champagne is full,
Place the settings carefully,
Set out plates of fancy brie!

Won't you come and be our guest?
If you do, we'll feel so blessed!
For a wedding should be shared,
With all the folks for whom we care.

My sister, Luisa, has a friend who absolutely loves to write. Her name is Petra, and her grammar and spelling are excellent, but she tends to be extremely descriptive. She could probably write about ten pages just explaining what church bells sound like. She needs an editor to help her communicate her ideas clearly, so Luisa often asks me if I can edit an article that Petra is trying to submit for publication to some magazine or other, because she knows that I love to write and am a pretty good editor.

Sometimes, we all just need someone to take a look at our work. Or perhaps, we just need to try and find some inspiration from a fresh new source. If you're trying to write your own wedding invitation poem but are having difficulty with ideas, with wording or with rhyming, maybe you just need to look at a few wedding invitation poems online to find a little inspiration.

I think this poem is lovely, with its descriptions of the glittery decorations and the images of food and champagne!

If you're feeling stuck, take a deep breath and look around for some new ideas. Concentrate on the wedding invitation wording verse by verse, and I bet the ideas will start flowing again in no time!
