A Wedding Gift Poem

You may not have considered including a wedding gift poem for your friends and family members, but I think it can be a really great, fun and creative idea! This poem does a great job of communicating the excitement and appreciation of the gift, while at the same time conveying the sense that the simple presence of the person receiving the poem is a gift all by itself!

Wedded Bliss

I wonder what this gift could be,
I want to look inside,
I wonder if it's for the groom,
Or if it's for the bride!

I bet this one's a toaster,
Or perhaps a dining set,
There's no sure way of guessing,
Since they can't be opened yet!

Wedding gifts are so much fun,
But better yet is this:
Celebrating all your love
And sharing wedded bliss!

As you may or may not know, I like to share my own stories about these poems because I believe that using poetry can be a very touching and personal way to express your feelings. I have seen this poem used in a really sensational way at a wedding, and I thought it was just the cutest idea!

The bride and groom had set up the gift table with little cards that were folded over. This poem was written inside all of the tiny cards. When someone dropping off a gift went to the table to set their gift down, they were instructed to take a card, and thus received an immediate "thank you" for the gift! It was such a fun idea and it really seemed to brighten up an already wonderful occasion.

I watched a few different couples come up to the table, drop off their gifts and then pick up the cards. Every single person was smiling as they read the card. I think the idea was very successful!

Weddings are already such a fun and celebratory time, and adding little touches like using poetry can make them even better. If you are looking for a creative little way to make your wedding more unique, then I would highly recommend this wedding gift poem for you!
