Wedding Day Poems
Wedding ceremony poems are sometimes a little harder to find than general wedding poems, because they talk specifically about the ceremony. This poem does a great job of highlighting the traditional parts of a wedding ceremony!
Blessed
The bride walks slowly up the aisle,
Sees the groom and brightly smiles,
Reciting words of faithfulness,
Watched with love by all the guests.
Exchanging rings, so very new,
The bride is wearing something blue,
The groom so handsome and so sweet,
Shuffling his nervous feet.
The ceremony is so grand,
The bride and groom together stand,
The wedding is a great success,
The newlyweds are very blessed!

There are so many different kinds of wedding ceremonies! Some people skip the traditional things and write their entire ceremony from scratch, including their wedding vows! Others keep some of the traditional elements, but choose to add in different things, such as a church choir singing between different parts of the ceremony, or a video collage of the couple's families wishing them well. And, of course, many people just wish to have a beautifully classic and traditional ceremony.
My wedding ceremony was pretty traditional, but we added in a special element. My sister Luisa gave a beautiful speech about love, and then sang a song for us before we took our vows. She has an extraordinarily beautiful singing voice, and we were so pleased that she had agreed to sing for us and for our guests in addition to being a part of the wedding party! It was a wonderful addition to the other traditional aspects of our wedding ceremony, and it added a very special touch to our wedding.
Wedding ceremony poems are sometimes pretty specific, but I think this one is general enough that it can be used for many different things!
