Verses For Wedding Invitations

Verses for wedding invitations don't have to be serious or sophisticated! They can be sweet and charming, like the verses in this poem.

Dear Friend

Please come watch us tie the knot,
We'll be sure to save a spot,
And reserve a seat and such,
It would really mean so much!

There will be a lovely cake,
And we hope you will partake
We will dance to cheerful songs,
Sharing laughter all night long.

We dearly hope that you'll be there,
You're our friend, and so we care,
Let us know if you'll attend,
We hope that you'll say "yes," dear friend!

When it comes to weddings, they can pretty much be boiled down into two categories: formal and informal. Formal weddings tend to be very traditional, with a lot of money put into the attire of the wedding party, the catering, the locale for the reception, etc.

Formal weddings are simply more sophisticated affairs. Informal weddings can also be expensive, but a lot of energy is put into creating a relaxed and celebratory atmosphere for the guests.

My wedding with my husband, Michael, was more informal than formal. Of course, we were all dressed beautifully and our guests were dressed up, too, but the atmosphere of our wedding felt more like a party than a serious event. That's the way we planned it from the beginning, and I still tell people that it's the best wedding I've ever attended!

If you are planning a formal wedding, then serious and more traditional verses would probably best suit your invitation. But if you are aiming for a fun, casual atmosphere, then this poem might just be what you're looking for! Choose verses for wedding invitations based on the kind of wedding that you truly want to create.
