Irish Wedding Poems
There are few things in life that I would consider more romantic than Irish wedding poems. When done right, they convey such a wonderful sense of the history and rich traditions of the Irish people. The beautiful poem below is no exception.
Irish Style
To celebrate our wedding
In a truly Irish style,
We will use some old ideas,
Straight from the Emerald Isle.
Perhaps, then, on our wedding day,
We'll walk to church as one,
Perhaps I'll wear a gown of blue,
As olden brides have done.
Whatever plans we choose to make,
The day will be so grand,
And we'll be wed so happily,
And go forth hand in hand.

Ireland is such a magnificent place. Just thinking about it evokes feelings of mystery and magic and romance. The Irish hold very true to their ideals and to their traditions. I've seen a lot of different depictions of the Irish in films and television and they are often portrayed as fighters, but don't let that fool you - they are a wonderfully romantic people!
Poems, like Ireland, can also evoke a sense of mystery and wonder and romance. It is no wonder, then, that this poem is a perfect choice for an Irish man or woman to share with others as a fun way to discuss some of the Irish traditions that might go into the planning of their own wedding.
Whether tough or romantic, everyone can appreciate a nice poem! If you are looking for a romantic Irish touch to add to your wedding plans (or if you have a friend who might like to do so for his or her own wedding), you'll be hard pressed to find better Irish wedding poems elsewhere online!
