Funny Wedding Poetry
A lot of people think funny wedding poetry is the best kind of wedding poetry. What do you think? The following poem takes a lighthearted look at a nervous groom!
Don't Retreat
Don't you panic, don't you dare!
That's your future wife up there!
Waiting oh so patiently,
Don't you turn around and flee!
Your heart is pounding, you are scared,
You are seeking some fresh air,
What if it is a mistake?
These are vows you cannot break!
Look into her lovely face,
And your fears she will erase.
Just relax - you've got cold feet.
Just make sure you don't retreat!

You've heard the old joke a billion times about the bachelor with the cold feet! Will he bolt? Will he leave his lovely bride stranded at the altar? Fortunately, while many men do experience a little bit of cold feet, very few of them actually head for the hills on their wedding days!
My husband has a friend who was a bachelor into his forties. When he announced his wedding, he was teased by just about everybody that he wouldn't actually get married. I think some of the guys even had bets going about whether or not he would show up! Thankfully, he did get married (he was on time and didn't even look nervous) and has been happily married for several years now.
Do you know a "perpetual bachelor" who is getting married? Does he seem nervous? Does he have cold feet? If so, you should do your best to encourage him and try to calm his nerves. Commitment really doesn't have to be a scary thing, after all! It's okay to tease him, but also make sure to let him know that he really doesn't have anything to worry about. You should share this funny wedding poetry with him - he might like it!
