First Wedding Anniversary Poem
A first wedding anniversary poem must be very special indeed, for it commemorates the first year of marriage, which is one of the most important years of all! Giving a poem like this to your spouse on your first anniversary would be a very sweet gesture indeed.
I love You
It's our first anniversary,
And that is wonderful to me,
So let me just be very clear:
It has been an amazing year!
One full year of being wed,
And many more that lie ahead,
Our journey's off to such a start,
I never wish to be apart.
I simply love to look at you,
And think of all that we've been through,
And now, my dear, I want to say,
"I love you" on this special day!

I remember my first anniversary very well. It seemed like the whole year had gone by so quickly - and yet it also seemed to stretch out across an age. It was a wonderful, romantic year.
Even though my husband and I had known each other for many years prior to our marriage and had been engaged for a while, it was a year of wonderful discovery, because marriage is so different from simply dating. We had a few arguments (of course, I can't remember now what they were even about) and we had a few celebrations, and it was just a wonderful year.
We've had 9 more anniversaries since then, and they have all been wonderful, but our first anniversary was just very special to me. The traditional gift for a first anniversary is paper, so it's a wonderful opportunity to write a meaningful message or note to your spouse, and including a poem will give it an even more special touch.
After all, a first wedding anniversary poem written in a card can be cherished for many years to come!
